Sesé welcomes the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism Committee at its air cargo terminal

  • A delegation of MEPs today visited Sesé’s facilities at Zaragoza airport as part of their tour to see first hand the potential of Aragón as a logistics hub in Southern Europe.
  • This visit follows Sesé’s announcement of the construction and management of a new terminal, which will have the largest cargo handling capacity at the airport.
  • Sesé has air cargo terminals on the front line of Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza airports and airport logistics support centers in Madrid, Zaragoza and Amsterdam.

A delegation of MEPs from the Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN) of the European Parliament has visited today Sesé’s facilities at Zaragoza Airport. Their objective was to know, first hand, the airport handling and air cargo management services provided by the company. The visit of the commission to the air cargo terminal of Sesé has taken place within a tour to value the potential of Aragón as logistic hub of the South of Europe that also included other strategic points of the region.

This visit takes place, in addition, after the announcement of Sesé of the extension of its presence in the airport of Zaragoza by means of the construction and operation of a new terminal that will count on the greater capacity of load management of the airport. These facilities, which will start up in 2026, will become the largest in the airport and will have an area of 18,500 m2 and 34 loading bays that will allow for greater efficiency and agility in the loading and unloading of goods.

Integrated airport logistics management

In the vicinity of its air cargo terminals, Sesé also has an additional logistics center where it performs comprehensive airport logistics services: import and export of goods; deconsolidation and consolidation of pallets or airfreight plates; quality control; customs management and flight supervision, among others.

In addition to its presence in Zaragoza, the company has strengthened its commitment to air cargo management in recent years at national and international level, with its own front-line terminals in Madrid and Barcelona airports, as well as airport logistics support centers in Madrid and Amsterdam. In addition, the company has its own software for the management and control of airport handling, which makes it possible to digitalize both the operational and administrative processes of such a specific activity, including cross dock services, planning and control of trucks for loading and unloading, and control of goods transferred to air traffic.
