Sesé commemorates its 60th anniversary and presents the 2nd Fundación Sesé Awards to Amazon Web Services, Carlos Martín, and the 8th Zone of the Guardia Civil

/ The company celebrated its sixty-year history and future vision with some of the national economic sector’s senior figures, including government representatives such as Pilar Alegría, Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.

/ During the event, Fundación Sesé presented the second edition of its awards, aimed at those individuals and initiatives that help improve people’s lives, especially those in vulnerable situations.

/The Commitment award went to Amazon Web Services, for promoting employment and economic activity in Aragon; the Talent award went to Carlos Martín, leader in the development of the first Spanish vaccine against tuberculosis; and the Alliances award went to the 8th Zone of the Guardia Civil, for its values of cooperation, mutual aid and dedication to service.

Sesé celebrated its sixtieth anniversary yesterday in an event that brought together various personalities from the business world, as well as institutional representatives such as the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Pilar Alegría, among other authorities. During the celebration, which took place at the Teatro Real, the company thanked all the collaborators and entities that are part of its history for their support and presented the 2nd Fundación Sesé Awards.

Alfonso Sesé, Sesé’s president, indicated that “It is just as important to remember the road we have travelled over the last sixty years as it is to keep our eyes fixed on the future. The constant desire to bring value with our solutions and the unwavering commitment of all those who work with us has got us this far and will continue to be at the core of our essence in transforming the supply chain of the future”.

For her part, the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Pilar Alegria, congratulated the company on its remarkable track record and on having grown into a multinational with a presence in 16 countries and nearly 15,000 employees, while maintaining its identity as a family business and preserving its Aragonese roots. “Part of the optimistic present of today’s Aragon has been made possible by the modernization of its production system, driven by companies such as Sesé, which have embraced innovation and sustainability without abandoning their social commitment. Sesé is an example of how business transformation can go hand in hand with human values. Through its initiatives and the work of its Foundation, it has proven to be a company with soul — one that is committed to supporting vulnerable people and creating opportunities, a way of understanding business that helps build a fairer and more cohesive society”, she added.

2nd Fundación Sesé Awards: a stage for recognising positive impact

The anniversary ceremony also included the presentation of the second edition of the 2nd Fundación Sesé Awards, launched in 2023, which recognise the efforts of people and organisations in improving people’s lives, especially those in vulnerable situations.

The president of Fundación Sesé, Ana Sesé, recalled that “These awards recognise those who, with generosity and commitment, work to create a more dignified, supportive and promising society. Thank you to the winners of this second edition for reminding us that great changes begin with concrete initiatives and for demonstrating that it is possible to build a legacy that transcends generations”.

The Commitment Award of this second edition went to Amazon Web Services company for its commitment to the Aragonese region through one of the largest technological investments of the last decade, which will generate employment, innovation and future opportunities in the region, as well as making Aragon a benchmark in digital transformation.

The Talent Award was presented to Carlos Martín, a medical doctor and leader in the development of the first Spanish vaccine against tuberculosis. The Fundación Sesé’s Board of Trustees recognises, through its choice, his extensive scientific career, as well as his commitment to global health and his vocation to serve the common good.

Finally, the Alliances Award was awarded to the 8th Zone of the Guardia Civil for embodying the values of cooperation, mutual aid and dedication to service, applied, among other initiatives, in its continued collaboration with Fundación Sesé, especially in solidarity initiatives such as the Sesé Bike Tour.
