Madrid, 03/07/2025. One year into their collaboration, ECOALF and Sesé reaffirm their shared commitment to sustainability and celebrate strong global performance. Throughout this period, both companies have agreed that improved joint working capacity, swift operational start-up, flexibility against unforeseen events and commitment to meeting deadlines are the main keys to their success.
The current relationship between the two companies involves Sesé overseeing the full logistics operation of the sustainable fashion brand from its facilities in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid). From this centre, which covers 15,000m2 and is equipped with 16 loading bays, the company handles almost one and a half million garments a year, for an approximate figure of 60,000 garments each week during peak-demand seasons.
From this facility specialising in retail and textiles, Sesé aims to maximise supply chain efficiency for its clients by delivering high added value through a combination of warehousing, picking and sequencing services, along with the deconsolidation and consolidation of air freight for onward distribution to Madrid Airport, where Sesé operates state-of-the-art logistics facilities as a handling agent.
A supply chain for positive impact
Since the beginning of the collaboration, ECOALF and Sesé have shared the common goal of increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the entire supply chain. Both companies have in fact agreed on a global commitment to emissions reduction, and a strategic plan to achieve it.
Jordi Romero, Sesé’s Global Logistics Director, states that “the collaboration with ECOALF is very relevant for us, as their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our values and has allowed us to continue innovating in this field, seeking specific solutions for their supply chain that continue to improve the positive impact we have on our environment”.
José Ignacio Egido, ECOALF’s Operations Director, indicates that “We at ECOALF welcome the strong collaboration we have established with Sesé at the Torrejón de Ardoz facilities, where we have joined forces to optimise logistics support and streamline our supply chain. This alliance is a reflection of our companies’ shared commitment to efficiency, sustainability and responsible innovation”.
Among other measures, Sesé’s multimodal centre in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) features a photovoltaic installation and chargers for electric vehicles, as well as energy-saving LED lighting, presence control and dimming to avoid unnecessary electricity consumption. In addition, the origin and transportation of the materials used during the construction process were monitored thoroughly, as was the subsequent waste management.
These actions have enabled the Sesé centre to obtain “Very Good” sustainability certification as per BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology), the world’s leading assessment and certification method for logistics assets that measures, evaluates and weighs the sustainability levels of a building during the design, execution and maintenance phases.
In addition to its environmental commitment, a social commitment to employment generation and integration has also been undertaken. In the last few weeks, four employees from the Sesé Foundation’s Special Employment Centre have joined the operations. Through this centre, the entity trains people with disabilities and helps them to find work suited to their personal characteristics, facilitating their integration into the regular labour market.
Sesé is an integrated supply chain manager that designs and develops sustainable, innovative solutions that are efficient and adapted to the needs of its customers. The company, headquartered in Zaragoza (Spain), operates in 16 countries throughout Europe, America, Africa and Asia, with a team of over 14,700 professionals for its various business divisions: land, air and sea transport; logistics and industrial services. In 2013 the company established the Sesé Foundation, which has the primary objective of promoting employment of people with disabilities or at risk of exclusion.
