Chattanooga: The City Linking Sesé to the 2026 FIFA World Cup

/ The Spanish national team has chosen the Tennessee city as its base camp for the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico

/ Beyond soccer, Sesé is one of the few Spanish companies with a presence in the U.S. city, where it operates one of its most advanced assembly plants for the automotive industry

/ Over the coming weeks, Chattanooga will become a strategic hub thanks to the 2026 World Cup, bridging the worlds of sports and industry, two fields that share a focus on performance, precision and teamwork

In the coming days, the Spanish national team will arrive in Chattanooga, the Tennessee city that will serve as its base camp during the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The choice of this city in the state of Tennessee as the Spanish team’s logistical base shines a spotlight on a location that, in recent years, has established itself as an industrial hub for the automotive industry in the United States.

Since 2021, Sesé has played a strategic role in this industrial ecosystem through one of its key global assembly plants. The company assembles various vehicle components, specifically front and rear axles, as well as corner modules. These are essential components in the automobile manufacturing process, characterized by their high technical complexity and their direct impact on the vehicle’s final quality and performance.

Covering 28,000 square meters, roughly the size of four football pitches, and employing more than 200 people, the Sesé facility performs nearly 600,000 assembly operations per year and handles 322 different types of subcomponents sourced from suppliers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. This project also marked a milestone for the company, as it took full responsibility for the entire industrial development process: from identifying the site and constructing the plant to designing the production lines, integrating the technology, and launching operations.

The Chattanooga facility, one of Sesé’s eight assembly plants worldwide, reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, automation and high-value industrial development in North America. Its four production lines feature a high level of digitalization and system coordination, supported by 16 collaborative robots that optimize process efficiency and safety.

The combination of advanced technology, industrial expertise, and logistical capabilities enables Sesé to meet the evolving needs of the automotive sector, which is characterized by electrification, technological transformation, and the demand for increasingly agile and resilient supply chains.

With the arrival of the Spanish national team, Chattanooga will become a strategic hub whose relevance extends beyond the automotive industry. The 2026 FIFA World Cup brings together the worlds of sport and industry, two fields that may appear very different, yet share the same commitment to performance, precision and teamwork at the highest level.
